Service was great. Food was better. Nice restaurant! Richard was our server and we think might be the owner. He does nice work! Food was brought out in a timely manor. Spring rolls better than NYC Chinatown and that's saying something. Vegetable fried rice was moist and very flavorful. Sweet and sour chicken also delicious. Was recommended by a guy at our condo pool! Thanks Mayor Mike!

When you arrive, there is plenty of free parking and if the parking lot is full, you can park on the street. This was my first time there. The food is amazing as we had so many dishes. Their service was really great, the staff were friendly and accommodating. They have his huge tv if you want to do any presentations. Will definitely be back again! Thank you Maple Garden!

I haven't been here since my college days a long time ago so was excited to come here for a large group event where we took up the entire restaurant. i had a 10 course chinese meal. I parked at First Hawaiian Bank on a Sunday, i was told you can park at the bank. A sign said parking was $5 on Sundays, there is also free street parking nearby on Sundays. I had honey walnut shrimp, ginger chicken, roast duck, hot sour soup, fried oysters, fish w tofu, spicy green bean dish, Noodles, beef brocolli type dish, fried rice and almond float. The food was great, it wasn't the best chinese food i've eaten but decent. For example their noodle dish seemed lacking with ingredients and their almond float was just made from a mix w no almond taste. Everything tasted decent and it was a nice restaurant to relax and talk story. I give it 4 stars because it's good but not the best i've had. It's a nice place to eat and I'd recommend it if in the area.

I made a detour on a Sunday in June 2023 for an unexpected lunch. A mainland friend was meeting up with his family in Hawaii. Just happened he plays Pokémon Go too. #truestory The story goes that he told me he was going to be at this restaurant at 12:30pm. I apparently misjudged the time and got there later than I want and my friend and his family already went inside to dine. I ended up having to wait till about 1:30pm and they still didn't come outside after they were finished. And so, it was after 1:30pm by then, I basically decided to order take out from Maple Garden Chinese restaurant for a late lunch option. I ordered a basic noodle dish, which ended up costing close to $20. While the noodles was delicious, I just was in sticker shock mode, since I couldn't believe it was that much. I even ordered in Chinese to the server too, but apparently this didn't help. With that said, I waited inside the restaurant for my order. The decor in the restaurant was elegant and elaborate for a typical Chinese restaurant but it works for in person dining these days. I did enjoy the ambience while I was waiting for my order, so it would be cool to sometime dining later in a future visit. But however, it was just a takeout affair this time around the service. Here was typical and good also friendly too. The restaurant itself had about maybe 10 to 15 tables in side, but only one table was being used at the time I was there. It was basically a slow Sunday for them I guess. The overall experience here at Maple Garden Chinese restaurant was fairly good, even though I had to wait an hour and a half for my friend to finish dining with his family while he was on vacation. I enjoyed my time here and the food was good although I probably should've eaten it sooner rather than later since I ended up at Alamoana shopping center to grab a drink and had it also maybe 20 to 30 minutes later after pick up here at the Maple Garden Chinese restaurant. The restaurant itself is clean and quite sizable for the restaurant of its size. I'm pretty sure that they did not have air conditioner or at least one that is noticeable because I didn't feel it while I was there. It was bright enough to where it was enhanced mood lighting in a way that you could come and take your friends or even an actual date. For the most part, I was a good experience here even though I was not dining in. I should probably come here more often if I am in the area at a mood for Chinese food. While its not the best, it's pretty solid and what they are best at doing. The location is fairly good for me as it is accessible on the way home from work or play on the bus. With that said, if you enjoy Chinese cuisine and in the Honolulu area, consider coming to Maple Garden Chinese restaurant. It may be a typical place, but it's good for what you want and they have the usual noodles and rice dishes to satisfy even the picky of eaters. Maple Garden Chinese restaurant is simplistically located on Isenberg Street, about half a block or so from the First Hawaiian Bank building on Isenberg and South King Street in urban Honolulu, Hawaii. They accept major credit cards, if you carry them regularly. They also accept cash as well. As far as parking goes, they have a small parking lot next to the restaurant. Beyond that, your best place to find parking is basically the street parking nearby. If you are like me, your best bet would be routes 1, 1L, 3, and 9 that run perpendicular to Isenberg Street - S. King Street, S Beretania, and Kapiolani Blvd. and stop at Isenberg Street and walk a block or so up to the restaurant. The service is good and typical, friendly and where local comfort food is where it's at, when it comes to nostagia and Chinese cuisine. Maybe next time I should ask for the cold ginger chicken. Usually my favorite. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. 4.0 stars for the service and ambiance. 3.0 stars for the prices. 4.0 stars for the food. Support local! B

We haven't been here in SO LONG but it was just as good as ever! The prices were pretty reasonable for the quantity of food you get too. A lot of the food we ordered had just a bit of char on some of it from the hot wok, making the food taste really, really good. Ordered a lot of food for 3 people but everything was excellent! House fried noodles were the thin kind I like, not greasy, with pork, vegetables and shrimp too. We also got crispy fried green beans with pork, sweet sour shrimp, black mushrooms with tender bamboo shoots, Shanghai rice cakes (YUM!), green onion pancakes all for $88. 6 items for under $100? Unheard of these days... Free parking outside the restaurant, and the best thing? Really, really good food .

Happy end of the school year! My coworkers and I got to celebrate together one last time and the venue of choice was none other than Maple Garden Restaurant. I've never been here before so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I did know from a quick google map search that it was near Long's on University so I was happy that there'd be ample parking. While the venue has its own lot, it is quite cramped and people will park behind you causing you to get stuck. We arrived around 525p where there was a lot of open street parking right across. We parked and safely jaywalked to the establishment. All I knew about it was that it was Chinese food. We walked in and you find yourself in a Jade dynasty setting with circular tables surrounded by various chairs. It seemed we walked into another party when we walked in because there was a big group inside...so where we're our peeps? Turns out, there's a separate smaller room on the side that can be rented out and that ended up being where our people were. Something else I didn't know until we walked in was that it's a open karaoke place!! The main room and the side room both had TVs with karaoke systems set up. Who would have thought? We ended up doing a catering service where pre-ordered entrees were set to come into our section. Here's what we had: Crispy fried chicken - delicious. Crispy. Gave a Korean chicken flakiness and texture. Beef broccoli - typical Chinese dish served well Fried rice - perfect amount of savory to compliment everything else that was to be fed to us Eggplant stew ? - not bad but not a preference for me either Wontons - a crowd favorite and crunchy perfection Roast pork - savory and juicy and thick chunk pieces to share! Overall, food was wonderful. Singing karaoke was even better. It was a nice unexpected restaurant experience :)

The string beans may have been somewhat undercooked, but the duck was pretty flavorful and tasty.
